Class Etiquette, Dress Code and Attendance

NOTE: Class size is generally limited to 10-20 students depending on age. If a class has reached capacity, a waiting list will be started.

 

Ø Etiquette

    1. Students are expected to arrive to class on time, in proper attire. If a student is continuously tardy, he/she may be asked to change classes to a more convenient time.
    2. Students arriving more then 10 minutes late may be asked not to participate in class.
    3. For liability purposes, parents are not allowed to sit in dance rooms. Murrieta Dance Project has provided viewing windows for parents and guests to enjoy watching their children dance without distracting the students during class.

 

Ø Dress Code

*Please note that the Dress Code at MURRIETA DANCE PROJECT will be strictly enforced to ensure the most optimal progression of all of our dancers.

*MDP will have signature black and camo leotards, skirts, tops, shorts and briefs that will be permitted in the coinciding classes. Please see boutique area for details.

1. Combo Classes

· Any color leotard, ballet skirt or dress

· Tights

· Ballet slippers and Tap shoes

· Hair must be pulled back in a secured ponytail or bun

2. Fairytale Classes (Strictly Workout Wear will have white leotards available at a discount)

· White leotard

· Pink tights

· Pink ballet slippers and tap shoes

· Hair must be pulled back in a secured ponytail or bun

3. Pre-Ballet

· Any color leotard

· Pink ballet tights

· Pink ballet slippers

· Hair must be pulled back in a secured bun

4. Ballet

· Black leotard (Short ballet skirts optional. MDP will have camo ballet skirts available.)

· Pink ballet tights

· Pink ballet slippers

· Hair must be pulled back in a secured bun

5. Jazz 1

· Jazz pants or shorts, leotard or fitted tops

· T-shirts and baggy pants are not permitted

· Jazz Shoes (Bloch SO401 preferred)

· Hair is at the discretion of the instructor

6. Jazz 2 and above

· Fitted clothing

· Leotards or crop tops are preferred. Skirts, shorts or briefs are permitted

· Loose clothing will not be accepted. Pants and or baggy capri pants are not permitted. (Knees must be visible.)

· Jazz Shoes (Bloch SO401 preferred)

· Hair is at the discretion of the instructor

7. Lyrical

· Fitted Dancewear

· No Loose clothing

· Jazz Shoes (Bloch SO401 preferred)

· Hair is at the discretion of the instructor

8. Tap

· Fitted Dancewear

· No loose clothing

· Tap Shoes

· Hair pulled back secured away from face

9. Hip Hop

· Comfortable clothing

· No shorts or jeans

· Tennis shoes or Dance sneakers

Inappropriate or revealing clothing will not be permitted

Monthly Tuition

Rates apply to 45-60 minute class and 4-5 classes per month

  • If a class is 1.5 hours you would count it as 1 class and add $20 to your base tuition
  • Single Class Rate $15 per class for a 45-60 minutes class and $20 for a 1.5 hour class
  • Annual Registration is $25 for the first dancer and $20 for each dancer thereafter
  • Sibling discounts are available
  • Private lessons are booked through individuals instructors

Tumbling Rates:

PLEASE NOTE: The tumbling program is not part of the dance program.

  • If a student is enrolled in 5 or more dance classes, the price for tumbling is $25 per month
  • If a student is enrolled in 1-4 dance classes, the price for tumbling is $35 per month
  • A student taking just tumbling is $48 per month
   

Tuition

  1. An annual registration fee of $25.00 for the first dancer and $20.00 thereafter is due at time of registration.
  2. Tuition is due the 1st of every month and is late after the 5th. Any payment received after the 5th will be subject to a $25.00 late fee.
  3. If tuition payments have not been received by the 10th of the month, students will not be able to attend class.
  4. There will be a $25.00 charge for all returned checks.
  5. Tuition is based on four classes per month. Months with five classes are used to offset holidays and studio closures.
  6. Murrieta Dance Project will accept: Cash, Checks, Money Order, Visa or Mastercard.
  7. There will be no refunds for missed classes. Students may make-up missed classes within one month of absence. Please check in with the front desk before attending a make-up class
